Woodworm - What happens if you don't treat it?

If left untreated, woodworm multiply and bore their way through all timbers and wooden supports in your property. A large infestation can lead to an enormous network of boreholes, which seriously undermines the timber, and therefore affects the overall structure of the property.

Wet Rot and Dry Rot are the most common types of wood-destroying fungi.
Despite their names, both require a source of moisture to begin destroying the wood in your property. A site visit from one of our team can identify the signs of wet rot so you are prepared and informed about how best to protect or repair your property from either form of wood rot.
Effective dry rot treatment begins with removing the source of moisture that created the conditions for rot and fungal growth. The next steps involve removing plaster and timber infested with fungus and spores, applying a fungicide treatment and fixing any structural integrity issues.

We are highly specialised in the identification and treatment of all types of wood rot in a wide variety of property types. If you have any concerns or you think you have identified a problem, please get in touch with us today to arrange a site visit.
